The first principle of permaculture “observe and interact”, reminds us that the process of observation affects reality; knowing this, we have to be careful with truths and values. The ability to continuously maintain voluntary attention on an object is essential for those in close contact with nature and is achieved through exercises on awareness to pay attention with intent, in the present moment and in a non-judgmental manner. This mental capacity is essential both to permaculture and the meditator interested in developing skills of permaculture, to conduct an existential condition in harmony with nature. Topics: Ethics of permaculture for social growth and environmental – relational emotional intelligence: • Taking care of the earth – to manage with simplicity soil, forests, water, and all living beings; • Taking care of people – to look after themselves, relatives and the community; • Share equally, cultivating emotional balance (through equanimity, loving kindness, compassion and sympathetic joy) and taking care of imbalances (attachment to self and aversion are countered with equanimity, egoism countered by loving kindness and sympathetic joy, while depression and indifference are countered by compassion). Practices: relaxation, focalization and awareness exercises. Joint teachers: Dr. Vincenzo Tallarico Psychologist, Sand Box therapist, co-founder and president of Mindfulness Project and whose Transpersonal Counselling School. Vincenzo is a teacher of meditation according to Tibetan Buddhist tradition and co-creator of Permamindfulness®. Dr. Giuseppe Tallarico Agronomist, agro-ecological and biodynamic farmer, accredited permaculture teacher, food safety auditor, expert models for excellence in business, real estate entrepreneur, co-creator of Permamindfulness® and General Manager of the World Permaculture Association.
