About: Utilizing a highly interactive farming system to maximize production for vegetables, fruit and animals, Many Hands Organic Farm is ever evolving. We will discuss our three-year transition to total no-till for our three acres of vegetables, our ever more intricate inter-sowing of cover crops, and complex animal rotations with the vegetable and fruit crops. This system is based on Albrecht-style mineral balancing, utilization of fertility drenches and foliar sprays, and maximum soil coverage.
Julie Rawson has been farming at Many Hands Organic Farm (MHOF) in Barre, MA since 1982. MHOF is certified organic and raises three acres of vegetables, an acre of large and small fruit, perennial herbs and flowers, nine pigs, two cows, 300 meat birds, 100 layers, 100 turkeys, shiitake mushrooms, and most recently, honeybees.
